History:

Tulu Koota Kuwait is a cultural association of Tulu speaking people living in the State of Kuwait. Tulu Koota Kuwait was formed on 11th August 2000 and was affiliated to Indian Embassy during the year 2001.

Objective:

Objective of Tulu Koota is to achieve "Unity through language" by bringing Tulu Speaking people under single umbrella and promote cultural social & charitable activities.

Membership:

Any Tulu speaking citizen residing in Kuwait is eligible to become a member of Tulu Koota Kuwait. Membership is required to be renewed every year on payment of KD 1 /-

Organization:

The Managing Committee of the Tulu Koota Kuwait is Eelected every year by the General Body. The Managing Committee consists of President, Vice-President, Gen. Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer, Internal Auditor, Cultural Secretary, Sports Secretary, Public Relation Officer and Welfare Officer. Executive Committee / Sub-Committees are nominated by Managing Committee.

Activities:

Tulu Koota Kuwait has been successful in reviving the interest in Tulu art & culture amongst the Tuluvas in Kuwait through various cultural activities.  Platform is also provided to the budding artists to exhibit their skills & talents through annual programs & competitions. Members and their families look forward to enjoy the annual events namely
outdoor family picnics, Rasamanjari & Tulu Parba.

Accomplishments:

Accomplishments of Tulu Koota during the past 5 years:

• Contributed Rs. 2,00,025/- to the Prime Minister's Gujarath Earthquake Relief Fund
• Created Kshemanidi Fund for the welfare of needy members wherein provisions are made for health grant for sick members and family support grant to the next of kin of the deceased member
• Award of Merit Cum Means Scholorship to the needy students who scoring highest marks in 10th & 12th Standard.
• Provided temporary amenities to the Indians who were stranded without job and two tuluvas were provided back home ticket.
• Two needy Indian housemaids who had taken shelter at Indian Embassy were given air tickets to India.
• Financial support to Tulu Bolli magazine in its quest for enhancement of Tulu literature
