Tulu Koota Kuwait – Family Picnic 2017 exciting games and lot of Fun.

The Tulu Koota Kuwait Family Picnic which was held on 17th March 2017, at the Mishref garden, Kuwait. It was the dedicated efforts of the committee members and active participation of the TKK members that eventually led to the success of the family picnic.

The event started with the Kuwait and Indian National Anthem was sung by the TKK kids with live music which boosted the energy and enthusiasm of the all the participants and the volunteers of the event.

Tulu Koota President Mr.Wilson D’Souza welcomed the gathering and Inaugurated the event through distributing the “OleBella” (palm jiggery) and water, which is a traditional way to treat the guest in Tulunadu, while the Sports secretary, Mr.Rajesh Poojary did the customary breaking of the coconut for an auspicious beginning. The idea was conceptualized by Mr.Suresh Salian and was very well coordinated by the Sports Secretary. The President and the chief guest hoisted the Tulu Koota flag, TKK first lady Mrs. Reshma D’Souza along with the TKK Kids marched with the torch, which symbolized the spreading of “the light of spirit, knowledge”, followed by lighting of the flame by the President and the Chief guest. To add a special flavor kids of TKK showcased a Zumba dance performance which was directed and coordinated by Mrs.Shobha Harish Bhandary.

The Chief guest of the day, Mr. Ashraf Ayyoor - Managing Director of Grand Majlis Restaurant Co, Associate in Badr Al Samaa Kuwait and heading many such other organizations. He is very well known personality for his philanthropic activities. He in his speech informed the members that he was delighted to be part of the event where in people of all religion from tulunadu gathered and united as one family. On this occasion he handed over the free vouchers for medical checkup for the interested members of Tulu Koota at Badr Al Samaa Hospital.

Various games had been arranged to all the family members of Tulu Koota of all age group, Children between 0-2 years old played musical chair game and kids aged between 2-4 years enjoyed Tri Cycle race and Rabbit race competition as well. Similarly, the elder kids of age group 5 to 6 were trilled to take part in frog & running mix race and Vrikshasana a yoga meditation posture, where they had to stay calm, balancing with one leg. Other Kids of age group 6 to10 years and 10 to 16 years took active part and show their strength in the games listed under their category. As promised the fun and competition was not just limited to the kids and teenagers, games like Kutti Donne, Shot put was organized for gents. Likewise, Lagori and Foot ball race were organized for ladies and special attraction breaking the pot – blind folded for the Gents and Ladies category which attracted a huge crowd. Well, team games were equally given importance and drew the attention of members, which displayed the team and sportsmen spirit among the participants. Kabbadi, Volley Ball , Throwball and Tug of War were the team games . To keep the members active for the whole day Mr.Tharendra Shettigar conducted the quiz for kids, ladies and general category with interesting question related to the Tulunadu culture, traditional and sports. All the committee members worked with joyfulness and together as one team throughout the day.

Housie housie was hosted by Mr.Chandrahasa Shetty and Mr.Yadunath Alva Captivating the whole crowd. The event was beautifully hosted by Swarna Shetty, Manoj Shetty, Dr.Preeti Shetty, Purandara Manchi, Sushma Bangera and Lionel Mascarenhas. Scrumptious lunch was served by M&M confectionaries, while the lightings and sound was arranged by Anand Illuminations.
